Work title: Apart of Me is Missing

Summary of work: The twenty-first century brought many new technological advances.
Emerging as a first-rate technological advancement, iphones were created with the intention of being a tool everyone can use. It was intended to be used for communication;
But with the creation of social media, that intention could be seen going down the drain.
Internet Addiction now exists and new disorders have been constructed from Social media. One huge example can be, FOMO — fear of missing out — where many users are afraid when they are away from their screens because of new events they are missing out on. My illustration of a broken iphone depicts how someone may feel without their phone, referencing the title “Apart of Me is Missing.” In the background of my illustration, we can see paint splatters and pieces of paper. This really enhances the messiness and cracks of the screen. The color blue was used to contrast this idea since blue often symbolizes calmness and stability. Other meanings of the color blue can be sadness and depression, which enhances the feeling the person may feel without their phone. This is why I like to compare iphones to a Double-edge blade. Phones have their many benefits; Most notably, communication.
However, some have grown so attached to their device that the idea of separation can be scary, conveying the idea that a part of them is missing without their device.
